Hi Tawra, I'm curious as to why you peel your potatoes, since thats where so many of the vitamins and minerals are. I've always left the peel on for Augraten and Scalloped. I realize some people may not be able to eat the peel, and I'm not trying to tell you how to cook (before anyone thinks I am) I'm just curious. 😁

my family always adds a "pinch" (tiny, tiny amount) of nutmeg to all beef recipes. You don't taste it, but it adds one of those layers of flavors you can't identify.

My tomatoes are coming in really well this year! Lot's canned up into catsup and juice so far, on to stewed with peppers, onions and celery next. Batch cooked up for spaghetti sauce tomorrow with meatballs or sausage.

Tawra! Where did you get your spray bottle for your oil? Do you have an Amazon link? It looks to me like it does a finer, more even spray than trying to use a can of Pam. I hate using Pam because no matter how careful I am, it comes out way too heavily and I end up with puddles everywhere.

Reminds me of my grandpap with the green beans. The only thing he wouldn’t eat was canned green beans. He had to have them from his garden.

Very great looking. Bet it was delicious. I have been cooking some of your recipes as I have been watching them. I've been sick for a year with various issues. Hospital in May and June. Kidney disease now so very limited to what I can have. Watching salt and potassium. We have many things in our stock pile that are no no's for me. Even some fresh veggies and fruits.

I try to make everything in the oven when i have it baking main dish. Hubby always likes a fruit cobbler to top off his meal.

Hi Tawra. I make my green beans in a similar way. I drain off half the juice, add bacon, bacon grease, pepper and garlic powder. Cook until liquid has simmered down. The addition of pepper and garlic powder makes the green beans taste like southern style. I enjoyed your recipes. Thank you for sharing.

Our secret ingredient is a bit of horseradish. Additionally, mix all of the add-ins together in a separate bowl and then pour that over the meat and mix in. It makes for a more thorough incorporation. Now I have heard it said somewhere that having that 1 extra bowl to wash is a no go. Takes me like 1 minute
